Pioneer Park, located on Palmer Avenue between Cedar and Alder streets, is approximately 30 acres in size. See: Map
Pioneer Park is the home to the majority of the organized athletic leagues in La Grande, including the La Grande High School Baseball and Softball Teams, American Legion Baseball, Little League, youth soccer and youth football. It is a popular site for youth district and state tournaments. Two of our fields are lighted and there are two restroom facilities and a fullsize concession stand with crows nest.
The Park also houses the Veterans' Memorial Swim Pool, which is an indoor pool with an attached outdoor splash park, a 15,000 square foot Skate Park, a covered pavilion which is available for rent, small playground, picnic tables and benches and grassy play areas. The Parks and Recreation Department Office and Maintenance Shop are also located within the Park.
