Arbor Day

Arbor Day

National Arbor Day and Oregon Arbor Month

Arbor Day is America's National Tree Holiday, the day we set aside to plant trees, educate children about the benefits of trees, and honor the importance of trees in our daily lives. National Arbor Day is celebrated the last Friday in April. To recognise the vital role that trees play in our state, and to promote health urban and community forests, the whole month of April is celebrated as Oregon Arbor Month.

The City of La Grande Celebrates National Arbor Day and Oregon's Arbor Month every year with community tree planting events, educational outreach to the schools, and community forestry volunteer awards.
