Juvenile Fire Setter Intervention

Fire Prevention

The Juvenile Fire Setter Intervention Program is a program designed by the State of Oregon to assess the needs of juveniles that have a fascination with or misuse of fire. This is accomplished through an interview process of the juvenile and the parent/guardian, using the Oregon Juvenile with Fire Screening Tool. The process helps determine if there is a need for education or for more intensive evaluation. This program is available to any juvenile and their parent/guardian in Union County.

La Grande Fire Department has one personnel certified by Oregon Department of Public Safety, Standards and Training as Juvenile Fire Setter Intervention Specialist 1.
