What is DPSST?
DPSST stands for Department of Public Safety Standards and Training. DPSST is the host of the Oregon Police Academy located in Salem, Oregon. All police officers and 911 dispatchers receive their basic training at the police academy. In addtion to providing basic training DPSST also organizes regional training throughout the State.
DPSST is the agency designated by the State of Oregon to "promote excellence in public safety by delivering quality training and developing and upholding professional standards for police, fire, corrections, parole and probation, and telecommunications personnel, in addition to licensing private security providers and private investigators in Oregon."
