- Big H Streetscape Project Weekly Update - Sept. 10-14, 2012

Work this week includes sidewalk & building basement work and alley reconstruction prep work. New benches, trash cans & planters continued to be placed throughout the project.
Sidewalks will be closed on the east side of Elm between Adams & Jefferson and on the north side of Washington between Depot and the public parking lot. Travel lanes on Elm between Adams & Jefferson in this area will be temporarily closed as well. Alleys between Elm & Depot will be partially closed. All other sidewalks and parking areas in the project area are reopened.

Again this week there will be miscellaneous finish work throughout the project area and alley reconstruction prep work. There will be no project work on Monday, Sept. 3 due to the Labor Day holiday. New bolt-in amenities (benches, trash cans & planters) are being placed throughout the project.
Concrete work will occur on the north side of Adams near Sterling Bank and on Washington between Depot and the public parking lot. Pedestrian ramps will be finished on Jefferson.
There will be closures affecting both alleys between Depot & Elm. The sidewalk is closed on Washington between Depot and the public parking lot and on Adams near Sterling Bank. Two pedestrian ramps are closed on Jefferson.

There will be miscellaneous finish work throughout the project area and alley reconstruction prep work on the two alleys between Depot & Elm. Concrete replacement will occur on the north side of Adams near Sterling Bank and on Washington between Depot and the public parking lot. Pedestrian ramps will be finished on Adams and on Jefferson. The major impacts will be temporary alley closures throughout the project area. Most on street parking has been restored.

Impacts will be light this next week as the contractor focuses primarily on finish work throughout the project area. The main areas of impact will be concrete work near Sterling Bank on Adams, the sidewalk and alley adjacent to BELLA and Cherry’s florist on Elm and the sidewalk to the rear of the Reynolds Bldg. on Washington. Most on-street parking should return throughout the project area next week.
