2011 Shop with a Cop
Shop With a Cop program is a unique program in which La Grande Police Officers, Union County Dispatchers, Union County Sheriff’s Deputies and volunteers share Christmas with children and families in Union County who are in need. Police Officers, Deputies and Dispatchers get to spend one-on-one time with children, allowing local law enforcement to make a positive contribution to the community. Children are recommended for participation in the program by the police department members and school employees. Each child is given $100.00 and is allowed to spend it as they wish for Christmas presents for their family and are treated to lunch at Subway. The Shop With a Cop program is held every year at Walmart and is only possible through generous donations by Walmart, Loveland’s Funeral Chapel, McDonald's, Subway, Benchwarmers Pub & Grill, Terry Hughes Farmers Insurance and the generosity of the general public through private donations. Everyone involved in Shop With a Cop is positively impacted at some level.
