Welcome to the Human Resources Department for the City of La Grande. This department provides support to all City departments. We are responsible for wage and benefit administration, recruiting, employee orientations and ensuring compliance with labor laws. We are also responsible for maintaining records and processing payroll.

The City of La Grande has three collective bargaining units:
La Grande Police Association - The La Grande Police Association represents all the non-management members of the La Grande Police Department, including Patrol Officers, Detectives, Code Enforcement Officer, and 911 Dispatchers.
International Association of Fire Fighters Local 924 - The International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) represents all of the emergency responders of the Fire Department, including Fire Fighters, Paramedics, and Captains.
La Grande Employees Association - The La Grande Employees Association is the largest of the three bargaining units and covers all the employees of the City who are not management, temporary employees, or part-time employees working less than half-time. This association includes a broad range of disciplines from entry level clerical and laborer positions up to professional level technicians.
