An Afternoon in the Life of the Mobile Fun Unit, 2010
During the City Budget Hearing in May of this year, it looked as if the Mobile Fun Unit would not be providing any fun for anyone. To the rescue came the Eastern Oregon Athletes and coaches, with additional help from community members, service organizations and businesses. The Fun Unit needed $5000 to operate this last summer. The "Kids Night Outdoors" event staged by EOU Women's Basketball Coach Anji Weissenfluh, who was assisted by members of the various athletic teams at EOU, raised $1500 of that amount. Tressa Seydel of the Union County Commission on Children & Families spearheaded the push to raise the $5000.
