Temporary Planning Department Office Closure: COVID-19

In response to Governor Brown’s March 23, 2020, executive order (Executive Order 20-12) and subsequent extensions, the City of La Grande Planning Department office is closed to the public.  However, the Department remains open for business for the duration of this executive order. We have implemented telework and work-at-home options for all Department employees as needed, and are committed to continuing to serve the public, answer questions and process land use requests. All staff are available via email and phone, but we are meeting with customers by appointment only to receive land use applications and to exchange other necessary materials. Land Use Applications, Review and Decisions:

·    Administrative: Applications that are subject to administrative review, such as zoning approvals, site plan review, lot line adjustments and minor land partitions will continue to be accepted and processed as timely as possible. 

·      Planning and Landmarks Commission:

o   To protect the public and respond to state guidance on social distancing, all Planning Commission and Landmarks Commission are meeting as scheduled via Zoom.  No in-person meeting are currently scheduled.

o   Applications subject to a Commission review process will continue to be accepted. They will be reviewed by Planning Department Staff to determine if they are complete or if additional information is needed to address minimum City requirements.  If deemed complete, the application will be scheduled for the next available meeting date.
