Water Valve Failure Caused Service Disruption
The City of La Grande experienced a mechanical failure in a major water valve located at the City's reservoir and the system could not supply water to the low level system. The crews responded and have restored service. Now that service has been restored, you may notice dirty water. The Public Works Department is asking citizens to run their water until it runs clear. As of 3:30 today, December 19, Public Works Director Norm Paullus confirmed that the water valve has been replaced and the system is fully functional in its original design. The system is in operation at full capacity and pressure.
